Artist Statement

I am of two minds when it comes to the motivation behind my work. The first is a perpetual quest to return to a place of childlike wonder — the space in our lives unbound by logic or impossibility. Through this lens, each observation becomes a rabbit hole into imagination and play, often leading to stories threaded together by the sparking knots of the subconscious. There is something enticing about looking at an object not as what it is, but as an opening to the endless possibilities of what it could be.

The second key motivator is the idea that all the manmade objects surrounding us contain fragments of our humanity. Within each object lies a question, a problem, and a creative solution. When separated from the whole, these pieces become scattered traces of logic that can be rearranged and paired to convey narratives connecting to the underlying truths of the human experience.

Ultimately, I am drawn to the space where wonder and humanity overlap — where objects become more than things, transforming into catalysts for stories, memories, and possibilities. It is within this space that my process begins. In essence, my work is about using found objects to explore the imaginative in-between, attempting to excavate the embedded truths of humanity in the fragments left behind
